Osteosarkopeni
Synopsis
Osteosarkopeni (OS), osteopeni/ osteoporoz ve sarkopeninin eş zamanlı varlığını tanımlamak için kullanılan geriyatrik bir sendromdur. OS patogenezinde kas, kemik, yağ dokularının birbiriyle etkileşimini etkileyen genetik ve mekanik faktörlerin yanında, özellikle yaşla ilişkili hormonal ve inflamatuvar faktörler ve komorbiditeler rol oynamaktadır. OS yönetiminde risk faktörleri gözetilerek bireye özgü multidisipliner yaklaşımda bulunmalıdır. Sağlıklı beslenme ve düzenli egzersiz, OS’nin önlenmesi ve tedavisinde birinci basamak seçeneklerdir. Progresif dirençli egzersizlerin aerobik ve denge egzersizleri ile kombinasyonu, kas ve kemik kütlesini iyileştirmede önerilmektedir. OS tedavisinde henüz FDA onayı alan ilaç yoktur. OS patofizyolojisinin ayrıntılı olarak net ortaya konması, OS’yi önlemeye yönelik farmakolojik tedavilerin geliştirilmesine yardımcı olacaktır.
