İntihar ve İntiharı Önleme
Synopsis
Kitabın bu bölümünde, günümüzde görülme sıklığı her geçen gün artan ciddi bir halk sağlığı sorunu olan intihar, intiharı önlemeye yönelik yapılan müdahaleler ve ruh sağlığı çalışanlarının bu müdahaleler içerisindeki rol ve sorumluluklarına yer verilmiştir. İntihar neden olduğu kayıplar ve toplumda oluşturduğu büyük olumsuz etkiler nedeniyle sağlık çalışanlarının önemle ele alması gereken öncelikli bir sorundur. Bölümde gerek intiharı önlemede risk faktörlerini değerlendirme, gerekse intihar oluşumunu önlemede yararlanabilecek stratejiler ve intiharın etiyolojisini açıklayan kuramların öz bir şekilde sunulmuş olmasının, toplum ruh sağlığı çalışanlarına intiharı önleme çalışmalarına katkı sağlayacak ve uygulamalarına yön verecek nitelikte olduğunu düşündürmektedir.
