Diş Hekimliğinde Akılcı Antibiyotik Kullanımı
Özet
Diş hekimliğinde antibiyotik kullanımının akılcı bir şekilde yapılması oldukça önemlidir. Antibiyotiklerin doğru ve gerektiği durumlarda kullanılması, bakteriyel direnç ve yan etkilerin önlenmesi için kritik bir önem taşımaktadır. Diş hekimleri, oral enfeksiyonların tedavisinde ve profilaksi rejiminin uygulanmasında genellikle ampirik olarak geniş spektrumlu antibiyotikler reçete etmektedirler. Ancak antibiyotik reçetesi oluşturulurken hastanın sistemik durumu, enfeksiyonun ciddiyeti ve antibiyotiğin seçimi dikkate alınmalıdır. Ayrıca, implant operasyonlarına ve diğer cerrahi müdahalelere bağlı riskler doğrultusunda antibiyotik profilaksisi uygulanabilir. Ancak, gereksiz yere antibiyotik reçetesi verilmesi ve yanlış kullanımın yaygın olması, bakteriyel direncin artmasına ve süperenfeksiyon riskinin yükselmesine neden olmaktadır. Bu nedenle, diş hekimlerinin enfeksiyon tedavisi ve cerrahi profilaksi için antibiyotik reçete etme kararlarını dikkatlice ve akılcı bir şekilde vermesi gerekmektedir. Ayrıca, kronik hastalığı bulunan kişilerde ve implant operasyonları öncesinde antibiyotik kullanımının etkinliği konusunda daha fazla araştırma yapılması gerekmektedir.
The rational use of antibiotics in dentistry is of great importance. The proper and necessary use of antibiotics is critically important to prevent bacterial resistance and side effects. Dentists often prescribe broad-spectrum antibiotics empirically for the treatment of oral infections and for prophylactic regimen. However, when formulating antibiotic prescriptions, the patient's systemic condition, severity of infection, and antibiotic selection should be considered. Additionally, antibiotic prophylaxis can be applied in line with the risks associated with implant surgeries and other surgical interventions. However, the widespread prescription of antibiotics unnecessarily and misuse can lead to increased bacterial resistance and the risk of superinfection. Therefore, dentists need to carefully and rationally make decisions about prescribing antibiotics for infection treatment and surgical prophylaxis. Furthermore, more research is needed on the effectiveness of antibiotic use in individuals with chronic illnesses and prior to implant surgeries.
