Obezite ve Üst Ekstremite Hastalıkları
Özet
Obezite günümüzün önemli sağlık sorunları arasında yer almaktadır. Obezite bilinen şekli ile sadece fazla kilolu olmanın dışında vücuttaki yağ miktarındaki artışın sonucu olarak bütün vücut fizyolojisini etkilemektedir. Metabolik hastalıklar başta olmak üzere birçok hastalık obeziteyle artış göstermekle birlikte birçok ortopedik hastalık da obez hastalarda daha sık görülmektedir. Diz gibi alt ekstremite eklemlerinde artan yük etkisiyle birlikte ortopedik sorunlar ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bunun dışında yük taşımayan üst ekstremite eklemlerinde de omuz ağrısı, epikondilitler, karpal tünel sendromu ve el osteoartriti gibi rahatsızlıklar obez hastalarda daha sık görülebilmektedir. Obez bireylerde bu hastalıkların tedavisi normal kilodaki popülasyona göre daha güç olmaktadır.
