Özet
İnsan yaşam beklentisi arttıkça, dünya çapında toplumlar ve sağlık sistemleri yaşlanan bir nüfusa uyum sağlamak zorundadır. Yaşlanmaya kişinin işlevini ve yaşam kalitesini olumsuz yönde etkileyebilecek çeşitli süreçler eşlik eder. Yaşlanma, önemli stres faktörlerinden kurtulma yeteneğindeki azalma "kırılganlık" ile ilişkilidir. Yaşlılıkta başlıca kas iskelet sistemi hastalıkları osteoartrit, spondiloz, DISH, osteoporoz ve D vitamini eksikliği, omuz hastalıkları, Romatoid artrit, polimiyalji romatika, gut, psödogut ve fibromiyaljidir. Yaşlı hastalar hastalık, sakatlık ve ağrıyı, doğal ve normal yaşlanmanın bir parçası olarak kabul ediyor ve günlük yaşam aktiviteleri olumsuz etkileniyor. Yaşlılarda kas iskelet sistemi problemleri, önlenmesi ve tedavisi önemlidir.
