Herbal medicines are used in many parts of the world to treat various diseases, and nettle extract is one of the leading ones. It is thought to suppress carcinogenesis and provide anticancer activity due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Many studies have shown its anticancer effect on normal cells and antimetastatic and apoptotic effects on malignant cells. Due to these effects, it is used in solid malignancies such as prostate cancer, lung and breast cancer, and hematological malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia.
Since it affects the functions of cytochrome enzymes in the liver, it may interact with many frequently used drugs. If not used carefully, it may cause serious drug interactions and lead to life-threatening health problems.
