Koenzim Q10

Synopsis

Coenzyme Q is an endogenously produced compaund which is present in most organs foremost pancreas, liver and heart. It plays a role in oxidative and aerobic metabolism and contains  antioxidant features that helps prevent  oxidative stress. Coenzyme Q has been shown to have anti-neoplastic features via muliple pathways. It has been shown in many studies to have beneficial effects on many cancer types such as breast, malign melanoma and HCC; but there are other types like prostate cancer where no beneficial effect has been shown. Most common side effects op Coenzyme Q are gastrointestinal compliants but it has a generally well tolerated safety profile. To this day there are promising studies regarding to Coenzyme Q’s antineoplastic features but more studies are required to determine its effects on cancer.
